2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band
The 2nd Rossendale scout group band comes from the town of Bacup in Lancashire which is situated midway between Burnley and Rochdale. The scout group itself is well over 100 years old with the band being in it's 53rd year.
The band playing here today is the senior band which is one of 4 bands connected with the group with the ages of people learning ranging from 4 year olds to grandparents in total there are over 100 people who are active in music within the group.
The senior band carries out around 30 engagements every year and has played alongside some of the top brass bands in the country (Black Dyke Brighouse and Rastrick and Grimethorp) to name a few as well as appearing in some excellent concert venues the O2 and Cologne Cathedral being among them.
In April of 2016 the band represented the national scout association by being chosen to play at the annual St Georges day parade and review of Queens
scout's at Windsor Castle.
