Welcome to the competition classes for 2026.

We welcome everybody to take part in these classes that have been running since 1831. This is the 196th year of competitions.

The competitive classes have sections for fruit, vegetables, flowers, homecrafts, floral art floristry, winemaking and photography for adults, plus an array of creative sections for those aged under 17. Everybody is eligible to enter these classes and there are more than 50 trophies and £5000 of prize money to be won.

The competition classes for 2026 are now open for entries. Entries close at 8pm on Monday 3 August 2026.

To enter the classes, first download the competition classes booklet from this link. If you would like a hard copy, these can be collected from Taunton Visitor Centre, the show office or from some local garden centres. If you would like a copy posted to you, please email us with your postal address.

Read the booklet and decide which classes you would like to enter. You can make entries online on our registration page. Alternatively you can send us an email with details of the classes you would like to enter or you can use the entry form in the booklet and post to the address shown in the booklet.

All you then need to do is to bring your exhibits to the park between 12 noon and 11pm on Thursday 6th August 2026 or between 6am and 7.30am on Friday 7th August 2026.
